About Eve Rachel Markewich

3For over two decades, Eve Rachel Markewich has provided legal counsel to individuals in need of high quality litigation analysis, most recently as a partner with Markewich and Rosenstock LLP. At the Manhattan law firm, she represents clients in trusts and estate matters, such as will probate contests, trust disputes, estate and trust accounting proceedings, and personal property division, before the New York Surrogate’s Court and the Supreme Court. Other matters she has handled successfully include property distribution following same-sex partner separation and discovery of assets withheld from an estate or trust. 

Eve Rachel Markewich and Markewich and Rosenstock LLP also handle commercial litigation and business litigation. That part of the practice includes contract disputes, employment claims, real estate litigation and business equity suits. She represents small businesses and owners of small businesses in partnership disputes and dissolution proceedings. 

In addition to her responsibilities with the firm, Ms. Markewich remains active with her legal community. She is a Vice Chair of the New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Law Section Committee on Litigation. She also belongs to the New York State Office of Court Administration’s Committee on Disability Issues in the Courts; previously, she was the vice chair of the Amputee Coalition of America. Contributing her experience to others in the field, Ms. Markewich has written articles for the New York Law Journal covering topics from tax clauses and the authority of guardians to the costs of interest in estate administration and ethical concerns.

Along with serving on the New York County Democratic Committee’s Judiciary Committee, she served as a Democratic District Leader on New York City’s West Side for over six years.
